I'm Still Free: Addiction Is Evil

I'm Still Free: Addiction Is Evil
I'm still free because I am the author of my own work. Those original posts still exist on the permanent record but they may be erased from the Wayback Machine. I used to know a webmaster who told me that that Wayback Machine is a piece of shit. He said he had a script that could recover any information that was ever posted on the internet. Wish I still knew him. All you folks who have bits of paper with those URL's from my original posts on them are free to send them to that law firm. Keep a copy for yourself. I may need you as witnesses.

I was astonished to be greeted by the name 'Hitler' this morning. Before I say what I need to in my defence, I'm going to repost some words from an earlier blog:

I can't believe I got sucked into this. With respect to that last post, to which faith did Jesus belong? And how have people calling themselves Christians been treating people of that faith for the last two thousand years? God loves us all and has a different plan for each of us. We may clash over our differences but we love God when we focus on that which brings us together. And sometimes the best way to stay together is to stay apart; that is, respect each others differences.

I've said many times that addiction is evil. I am addicted to cigarettes. I'm ashamed of it. Chances are that many of you are addicted to cable TV. Well, my addiction only hurts myself. TV addiction hurts TV addicts and me.

Was it a sin for me to take out a book in the library with a title like Hitler's Jewish Soldiers and have a look at its contents? That's a provocative title. Jewish soldiers in the Nazi army? You can't blame me for being curious. By the way, are spies going to forever be allowed to invade my privacy? No, because the rest of forever is waiting for them after their departure from this world.

I had the most hilarious thought about Canadian winters this morning. It would let anyone laugh their way through a snowstorm. Why don't you look through your videotapes of old NBC SNL sketches to see if it's there?

Beyond this point my statements are the result of guesswork. For those of you just tuning in, it seems that NBC only wanted to prosecute TV shows for taking my blogs if they could do it in a way that made me look like Dateline's pet. I suspect that Dateline had a hand in the theft of my work and I am as angry with them as I am at the culpable shows. Dateline also broke some rules in how they punished the band that stole my songs. They and their network don't deserve to be on the air.
